Conditions

Some common conditions treated with physiotherapy:

  • Back pain (sciatica, disc problems, trapped nerve, postural)
  • Neck pain (trapped nerve, disc problem, headaches, postural)
  • Work related strain (repetitive injuries like tennis or golfers elbow)
  • Headaches
  • Whiplash injuries
  • Muscle/tendon strains (e.g. Achilles tendon, rotator cuff in shoulder)
  • Ligament sprains (e.g. ankle, knee, and wrist)
  • Joint strains (e.g. shoulder, hip, knee)
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Post-joint dislocations (e.g. shoulder, elbow)
  • Post fractures (upper or lower limb after plaster removal)
  • All sports injuries
  • Rehabilitation post surgery for any musculo-skeletal injury

On average many conditions may require 4-6 treatment sessions. This will vary depending on many factors such as the severity of the problem the type of problem or the job/sport the patient is returning to. Some problems may only require 1-2 sessions whereas others may require more than six.
